Duo with pianist Flore Merlin

Marine and Flore have been performing song recitals together for many years.

Both are passionate about historically informed performance and historical instruments, as well as the study of early recordings and the expressive richness and freedom they offer.

Together they have built up a number of narrative programmes, notably around the figures of the female composer Pauline Viardot, the poet Federico Garcia Lorca and the sorceress Lorelei.

They have performed as a duo at the Opera Comique (Paris), La Nouvelle Athènes (Centre de pianos historiques, Paris), l’Académie Bach (Arques-la-Bataille), at Festival Pauline Viardot (les Amis de Georges Bizet, Bougival), at Festivals les Festes Romantiques de Croissy, Jeux de Vagues (Dinard), Un Sacre du Printemps (Evreux), at La Matrice (Paris), at the Nocturnes de Laude (Paris) and with Elles Women Composers (Rennes).

Damask vocal quartet

Marine is the mezzo soprano and co-directrice artistique du quatuor vocal Damask depuis 2014; elle en a repris la direction artistique seule en 2023.

Since its creation, Damask has devoted itself to the repertoire for vocal quartets. As well as piano quartets from the Romantic period, they perform repertoire from the 20th and 21st centuries, both a cappella and accompanied pieces.

Their debut disc, O schöne Nacht, released in November 2018, has received critical acclaim - including a Choc de Classica in France. Recorded on a historic Streicher pianoforte, this CD is devoted to the German Romantic repertoire for vocal quartet and piano (Brahms, Herzogenberg, Jenner, Kirchner) with pianist Flore Merlin and the quartet's four original singers Katharine Dain, Marine Fribourg, Guy Cutting and Drew Santini.
